TRAPPERS CABIN
An original Trappers Cabin was moved to the Park in the early years of development. The building was built in the 1920’s by a Russian couple. They were part of a large Russian community who had fled from the Russian Revolution in 1917. They first traveled to China and slowly worked their way to Alberta and B.C., arriving around 1924. The deterioration of the cabin resulted in a replica being built in 2001, which is larger than the original to accommodate visitors comfortably.
Just outside the Trappers Cabin stands 'The Traveller', he is a chain saw creation done by local artist Darren Jones. Darren and his family donated 'The Traveller' to the Park in 2002 in recognition of the community's support during their daughters fight with cancer.
